Whenever a New Year rolls around it's natural to reflect on the past year or for people like me, who have a memory like a gerbil, things I thought upon in the past month.
Favorite thing I heard in person.. My son told me that he wished his super power was to bring back the dead, in this order - my mother, my brother, and Marvin Gaye! He got off the naughty list just in time..

Best early Christmas gift ever.. Waking up on our last day snowboarding in the mountains, to my twerps who had crawled into my arms during the middle of night. HOORAY!!!
Goofiest image I had of myself.. The look on my face after shooting myself in it, with a Nerf gun while picking up toys.
Thing I mumbled most to myself while standing in line at Starbucks.. "By the power of Grayskull - I will not order my 50th pumpkin latte with double whip cream today or any other day until Thanksgiving 2012!"
Coolest Facbook moment.. Tom Dreesen requesting my friendship! (Mr. Dreesen was Frank Sinatra's opening act for well over a decade, not to mention a million other nifty things about the man.)
Best moment with my camera.. There were quite a few this month. But my favorite was the fun I had shooting Sam Tripoli's Naughty Show. Here's a link to the actual video. http://youtu.be/THJT1qdhtA4 I shot it on my 5D. One of my goals this coming year is to fine tune my video shooting and editing.
Best Christmas gift EVER from a friend.. Joey Diaz got Gabrielle Iglesias tickets for my kids. My oldest twerp had been going on for months, "Gabrielle Iglesias this... And Gabrielle Iglesias that..." So he was quite stoked when he actually got to see him and meet him backstage. I think the picture tells it all.
Favorite podcast of the year on Beauty and Da Beast was.. Tweak Mission - Episode 69 Felipe Esparza dropped by and talked about his experiences with the "rocks of hell." Which culminated in someone missing an ear, and the problems he faced when he called everybody out in the neighborhood. If you get a chance catch Felipe's Showtime Special, which just started airing. He truly is a riot! Btw - you can get the podcast via our website or Itunes. www.beautyanddabeast.com

Moment on New Years day when one realizes that life does march on.. It came to my attention that comic Ron Shock is fighting a tough battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He is truly one of the most amazing comics I have ever set me eyes on. For those of you not in the "know" he was one of the original Outlaws of comedy along with Bill Hicks.
When one undertakes comedy as a career choice, you give up a lot... Most significantly, the safety of your future as it pertains to healthcare and retirement. No one is bitching about that, because perhaps that's a fair trade, in order to truly not be beholden to anyone or anything. But, if anyone out there has ever belly laughed at a comic who never quite got America's complete attention. Do us all a favor and think about making a donation to Ron's health care fund via his website. www.ronshock.com
Most awkward moment of the whole entire year.. While visiting the home of my "activity partner's" mother during the holidays, she turned to me and said, "I saw your little animation you did based on your podcast. It was.." she never quite finished her sentence. The "activity partner" left the table and pretended to straighten up the kitchen. I myself just laughed... If you haven't gotten a chance to watch the animation here it is... Do I tell her that the 8 times thing is actually about her son? www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlUE809w9Gw
